On behalf of the many women and children receiving services through Penelope House, we would like to ask you to partner with us in our efforts to raise community awareness about the crime of domestic violence and, in the process, much needed funds for the continued operation of our shelter.

On February 6, 2010, we will sponsor the Second Annual Mobile Chocolate Festival. The Mobile Chocolate Festival appeals to individuals of all ages. We feature local chocolate artisans who provide sample tasting and sale of their confections, as well as artists of all ages displaying their chocolate themed art and fashion. Also featured are a fantastic children’s area and the “Chocolate Challenge” which appeals to aspiring chocolatiers in youth and amateur divisions as well as professionals. There will be an area designated for demonstrations, and many more fun events the entire family will enjoy.

In 2009, the first Mobile Chocolate Festival reached an astounding 4,000 people. We are certain of an even bigger and better event this year. We are impressed with your support of Mobile area community events and hope we can count on your participation.

With your support we can continue to provide safety, protection and support to victims of domestic violence and their children through shelter, advocacy, and individual and community education.
